After showing signs of significant improvement in 2015, the Senior B’s made it through to their first semi-final appearance since 2003. Throughout 2016 the B’s showed a lot of pride and passion in the way they often came back against the odds to secure wins which in previous seasons would have been beyond them.
Such gutsiness reflected well on their team spirit and the extra game smarts instilled in them by new coach Ray McDonald. Unfortunately, the B’s came up against the table topping Southern B’s in Hawera on semi-final day to lose 12-29 to the eventual Division Two winners. However, Tukapa now has a Senior B team we can all be proud of and that newcomers are happy to play for.
