Good Sports Grade Age range 8 – 13 yrs. (min 5 kids + 2 adults optional) $100/team
Social Grade Mixed – 7 per team minimum two females’ $160/team

The Rules

Change of Possession

Play restarts with a ROLLED BALL

  • Ball to ground ie: Ball dropped
  • Dummy half touched in possession
  • Dummy half places ball in try zone
  • Sixth touch
  • Ball on or over sideline
  • Incorrect rolled ball
  • Incorrect tap

To Score a Try

Ball to be grounded on or over try line

  • Players may dive to score
  • Dummy half cannot score
  • No forward passes in try zone

Penalty Infringements

Play restarts with a TAP

  • Forward pass
  • Touch and pass
  • Rolled ball off the mark
  • Performing a rolled ball prior to a touch being made
  • Defenders offside at rolled ball (5 metres)
  • Defenders offside at tap (10 metres)
  • Delaying play
  • Obstruction or interfering with play
  • More than allowable number of players
  • Incorrect substitution
  • Claiming a touch when contact has not been made
  • Excessive force when effecting a touch
  • Obstruction (using players or referee)
  • Misconduct

To Perform a Tap

  • Place ball on ground
  • Release from hands
  • Tap with foot (no more than 1 metre)
  • Retrieve cleanly
