Tukapa Newsletter – Semi Final Week
It’s Semi Final Week and we still have two teams flying the blue and white flag, with our Motion Plumbing Colts and our Div 2 lads both fighting to keep their seasons alive.
Our Div 2 boys thought last week had brought their season to an end, but it turns out there is still a Division 3 Final to play on Finals Day. Kaponga has gone straight through to the final, leaving Tukapa and Okaiawa to battle it out for the other spot.
Tukapa will host Okaiawa this Saturday at the Chook House with a 1.00pm kick-off. A win would see our lads book themselves a spot in the Division 3 Final at Stadium Taranaki. Okaiawa has been a bit hit and miss this season, but only two weeks ago they picked up a win over Kaponga, so this shapes as a cracking game of rugby. No matter the result, the boys will enjoy the occasion and no doubt enjoy themselves afterwards as well.
Our Motion Plumbing Colts are on the road to Rahotu to take on Coastal in their semi-final. We’ve met Coastal twice this year and they’ve got the chocolates both times. But after watching training last night and seeing the team named, I reckon our lads might just be ready to tip the scales. A win would send the Colts back to the final with a chance at a three-peat.
We all know our Colts love a come-from-behind championship story, so look out Coastal… the blue and white are coming.
A slight downer this week is that we had organised a supporters’ bus to Rahotu, but unfortunately the numbers just weren’t there, so we’ve had to pull the pin on it. Instead, grab some mates, fill a few cars and make the trip down to Rahotu to get behind our boys.
